Due to storm Henk we received a phone call from Mark Walker Grounds Maintenance about a fallen tree at a site they look after. The tree had fallen in the car park of an adult care centre, crushed a car and blocked the entrance/exit. We received the call late morning and were on site by 12:30. It was noted in a previous tree survey for the tree to be removed.
The aim was to clear the car park area of the main crown of the tree. This would allow the residents and staff to gain use of the car park. The logwood would be stacked and left over night for our return the next day to clear.
Starting with one person on site and finishing the afternoon with 7 staff on site we achieved our objective and more. We removed all of the crown, and 2 truck load of log wood. The crushed car was exposed for the insurance assessor to visit the next day. The log wood and split out trunk was all finished up by lunchtime on day 2 for the car park to be fully functional again.
